ColophonBehind the scenes

How this film was made.

karan.dev is Karan Rajput’s portfolio, built like an After Effects launch film. Every still, loop, score and voice line was generated for it, then cut together by hand. This is the production pipeline, with the real assets each stage produced.

Stage 01 / Key art

gpt-image-2.5

Azure AI Foundry · flare, falls back to sunburst

15 key-art stills, each with a 640px mobile cut, generated in parallel from one shared style prompt: a near-black backdrop, a single ember rim light, a sliver of iridescent refraction, film grain, and no text. Anything with stray lettering or a plastic look was regenerated.

House rules

  1. 01

    Edited motion, not decoration

Expo-out entrances, power3 wipes, 0.6–1.2 s durations, staggered by character.

  2. 02

    One ember per shot

A single accent colour, used once per view. Iridescence lives only inside imagery and 3D.

  3. 03

    Never hostage to JavaScript

Text is in the HTML. With JS off or reduced motion on, nothing waits on an animation.

  4. 04

    Fluid from 320px to 4K

Type and spacing on clamp(); the rem scale grows on very large screens.
